Mobility challenge day 2 Quad / hip flexors? The majority of hip flexor/quad tightness isn't the result of activity, but is a consequence of poor body position that we maintain throughout the day. For example sitting 1) shortens the hip flexors and 2 ) weakens the glutes. Also a lot of exercise choices we make are anterior dominant: squats ,bench etc which can make the situation worse rather than better. Ok it's January and some people are reintroducing themselves into fitness and others are pushing on what they achieve last year . Tight groins? try this, Athletes frequently present with tightness in the groins (hip adductor). In field sports like Gaelic football and soccer where there is a lot of kicking motions, players often end up overusing their adductors. This tied with poor activation of the glute in hip extension a can cause problems in the groin. When the groin is tight this alters movement patterns. If you don't address tissue quality in this area, and increase the strength around the glutes then it's only a matter of time before you get a nasty tweak.
