As part of our current Aistear theme, we were so excited to have a visit from the Galway Fire Brigade last week. All the children got to talk with the firefighters, climb inside the engine, use the fire hose and wear a helmet. Sincere thanks to the firefighters for visiting the school!

How quickly our first month of the new school year is passing! All the classes, particularly our new group of junior infants, have been having lots of fun during Aistear (structured play) time. We have a rice table, giant polydrons for construction, imaginative play in the home corner and a large doll house. Each month the activities change, and for many children this structured play is one the highlights of the day.
