Sparks is the longest running and most successful modern dance school in Clare. Classes are offered from age 3 upward with classes everyday of the week. Sparks Dance School was created about 17 years ago by Lourdes O'Donoghue and is the longest running and most successful modern dance school in Clare. Classes are offered from age 3 upward with classes everyday of the week. The school has gone from strength to strength since its creation. The school has represented "Team Ireland" twice at the "Dance Excellence" festival in Los Angeles, California, including: Dancing at stage in Disneyland!! The school is also home to renowned teams "Sparkattack""Dynamic Process" and "Ignite". Teams from Sparks have won competitions in Tralee, Dublin, Castlebar, Cork, Ennis, Limerick, Dundalk and Mosney. These competitions include numerous All-Ireland Dance Championship, Dancer of the Year, Street Dancer of the Year, Community Games and Irish Open titles. Sparks have performed at many events in Clare and right across the country. Recently flagship team "Ignite" have performed at the Miss Clare and Mr Ennis competitions as well as charity and community fashion shows in The West County Hotel, Auburn Lodge Hotel, Queens Nightclub and The Inn at Dromoland and Dromoland Castle. Along the principal teacher Lourdes, Mikie O'Loughlin and Oskarina O'Sullivan are also teachers. Classes not only take place in the purpose built studio in Ennis, there are also classes in Tulla and Inagh N.S too.
