Protective tubes (Sulci-Protector) This method is recommended in the event of the pressure of the nail plate on the nail wall. The edge of the nail is placed in a cut-along tube and secured with glue. The tube prevents irritation of the skin and allows safe growth of the nail without damaging the nail wall. Nail Plate Reconstruction It involves removal of the damaged portion of the nail and application of specialized gel containing antifungal substances in order to protect the newly growing plate. Occurrence: Most often affects big toe, but can also occur in other toes. Causes: Mechanical trauma, e.g., improper nail care during pedicure at a beauty parlour or inadequate nail care at home Subungual haemorrhage caused by improper footwear, trauma or pressure, Dermatological diseases, e.g. myocosis, psoriasis, etc. After prosthetics the nail plate looks virtually identical to a healthy plate.

Thickening of the skin more limited than callus, penetrating deeply and having a kernel. Skin protects itself when mechanically irritated and produces additional layer of the epidermis. As a result, it becomes thick and cornified. Sometimes it is impossible for the stratum corneum to separate and a core penetrating deeper and deeper is formed. Sometimes it irritates the periosteum, causing severe pain. Removal of the corns at home (liquids, patches) often proves ineffective, as the corn regrows. In such cases, professional help is necessary. Occurrence: Located in the areas of constant pressure (improper shoes, toes tightly adjoining to each other, soles of the feet under bone elevation), close to the nail and just below it. What we do: Removal using cutters to remove the core; Depending on the corn, the treatment should be repeated in order to shallow the space remaining after the corn has been removed. Causes: uncomfortable shoes constant pressure on the tissue
