📣 NEW BLOG POST 📣 'TRAINING THROUGH THE DECADES' With nearly 30yrs training under my belt (28.5 to be exact) I've had plenty of realizations along the way! For every decade my purpose of training changed for many reasons which I'll go into further but what remained the same was my commitment to getting it done. I hope some of it resonates with you and helps you to guide your decisions on your own training. So here it's goes, let's start with the first decade....... TEENAGE YEARS👨‍🦱 * Started lifting at 13yrs old * Fortunate to have a good training mentor in my father Mickey Rogers * Got expose to a lot of quality information on how we do things here * Trained a couple of times a week and playing other sports also * Not an ache or a pain😂 * Could eat whatever the hell I wanted 😢 20-30 Years (Living the DREAM) * Got a gym instructors qualification and started working in The Gym * Lifting 2-3 times a week * Started to see a real change in my body * Strength went up pretty quickly * Could still eat what I wanted * Taking my sports outside gym to higher competitive level * injuries started to creep in * No stress or commitments to anybody only worry about me, myself and I😳 * Bucket loads of energy * Sleep 8-10hrs a night plus naps in the afternoon * Party my life away at the weekend 😃 IT'S ALL ABOUT ME⬆️ 30-40 Years (Life is starting to really change) * Still training but can't do the volume I done in my 20's OR do as many sessions * Had a really bad injury * Not sure when I'll train but it's somewhere between 2-4 sessions a week depending on what's happening (but I always get something done) * Definitely can't eat what I want anymore 😩 * Niggles more regular * Work life getting busier * I realise financially I haven't a pot to piss in😂 * 4 children in 5yrs😳 * Open my own business * Buy a house * Buy a family car (I use to drive an Audi TT, no hairdressers jokes please) But I loved that car😭 * Sleep deprived most of the time * Stress levels starting to rise nicely * Huge pressure balancing it all * Take to the wine to release some stress🍷👍 40-42yrs * Stressed * Tired most of the time * Eating too much bread and biscuits 🤦‍♀️ * More aches and pains to manage * Train 2-3 times a week *Let's just say sometimes I don't know if I'm coming or going 😂 But I still keep the basic things in place to keep myself right. 👍 But what I've learned is training now is more holistic, not just about how I look or how much can I lift. It's keeps my head right, gives me energy, I'm more positive after it, I eat better and a much nicer person to be around! Hope some of this helps and gave you a laugh. I'm sure lynsey is wetting herself thinking, never mind that fella, he's still living the dream 😂 Aaron
