facebook.com***PRESS CENTRE*** MAVERICKS V NOT IN YOUR MAS FOREST Mavericks took another step towards securing 3rd place in the Thursday division 2 with a victory over NIYMF. In what was a very open game it was Mavericks who started the better with early goals from Sean 'Arjen Robben' Maher and Evan Farrell proving a sign of things to come. NIYMF grew into the game as the first half wore on with Noggy and Tim linking up well and picking up 2 goals each on the night. Mavericks goalkeeper Fran was his usual consistent self and if it wasn't for his top drawer saves this game could have been a lot closer. Man of the match Evan of Mavericks was in excellent form throughout tonight's game he cored 5 terrific goals which were pivotal in securing 3 points for his side. Final Score: Mavericks 15-5 NIYMF MOM: Evan Farrell
Last nights upset in the NBB - Kick and Scorety game has brought a lot of teams back into play in division 1

Update from the Tuesday league, still lots of time left for teams and individuals to turn it around.
***PAT MUSTARDS MILKMEN V NON GARGLING SQUAD*** Pat Mustards produced a vintage performance against Non Gargling Squad in Tuesdays featured game but were unable to come away with the win in tonight’s featured game. From very early on in this encounter it was clear we were witnessing one of the games of the season. The pace was frantic and the football was of the highest quality as both teams gave it their all from minute one. Ken McCoy and his side were determined to bounce back from last week’s hammering with a big performance tonight and it was clear the boys were fired up for this one. Non Gargling Squad, in their second featured game on the trot, were looking to continue their early season momentum, after a pulsating first half they led 6-4. At the start of the second period Non Gargling Squad stepped it up a notch with MOM Stephen in particular playing excellently - they stormed in to a 9-4 lead and at this stage PMM looked dead and buried but Ken and Slider had different ideas and they fired their side back in to the game and pulled it back to 9-8. The sides exchanged goals in the closing minutes but the clinical Non Gargling Squad produced a late rally to seal the 3 points - many will be backing them for the title now. This will go down as one of the games of the year. MOM: Stephen (Non Gargling Squad)
HERE ARE THE TOP GOAL SCORERS FROM DIVISION 1 AND 2 AFTER LAST NIGHTS ACTION !
PRESS CENTRE: Glen Waddles v Chicken Tikka Mo-Salah Hogan lasted just one week without inspirational goal scorer Sean McNamara before meeting his wage demands and bringing back into the fold. Last week he was named in the team of the week and because of that was able to pre-hydrate with an ice cool refreshing Lucozade sport orange. He looked plenty hydrated early doors helping Hogan to a 7-0 lead after 15 minutes. Scoring and assisting, if Powerleague ran a fantasy football he’d be most people’s choice for captain. You don’t get to 7-0 without being tight at the back and while Waddles were guilty of gifting one or two chances to Lorcan Hogan’s side they had to work hard for every shot at goal they got themselves. That said they did create chances, mostly through Eoin Mccurtin’s guile in midfield and had every chance of overturning the early lead but lacked cutting edge in front of goal. But it was CTMS who took the 3 points with a comprehensive win. Their new signings are starting to gel into the team and with quality in front of either goal they could be dark horses for next season. Final Score: Glenn Waddles 9 - Chicken Tikka MoSalah MotM: Sean (Chicken Tikka MoSalah)

****THURSDAY NIGHT FEATURED GAME*** MAVERICKS V MCFLARE McFlare marked their Powerleague debut with a win over the experienced Mavericks in a pulsating game at Spawell this evening. Mavericks fielded a strong team on the evening but were without Sean Tougher and Michael O'Brien whilst McFlare had a squad of 7 to choose from. This game quickly became a battle of the Sean's as Sean Maher of Mavericks and Sean Bergin of McFlare spent the game trying to outscore each other at opposite ends - Man of the Match Bergin finished with 5 goals while Maher had 4 including 1 beauty caught on camera. In a game with many chances at either ends their was some excellent goalkeeping on display with Fran and Darren both pulling off some excellent saves. The difference between the sides in the end was clinical finishing and it was McFlare who came away with the 11-7 victory but if truth be told football was the real winner on this occasion. McFlare 11-7 Mavericks MOM: Sean Bergin (McFlare)

CONFEY FALCONS 16 - 12 DADS ARMY FC🙌🏻⚠️ Fantastic display from the Falcons. After a flourishing start to the game which saw us take a 9-2 lead, progress was halted as Fortune let the heat of the occasion get to him and was dismissed after being shown a red card. The Falcons had it all against them, being down a man and momentum on the oppositions side. But, experience prevailed and we walked away with a convincing victory over close rivals.🕊🕊🕊🕊 Goal scorers: May:3 Fortune:4 Gilbert:4 Pfeiffer: 2 Malone:2 Doolan: 1 Changes from last week's fixture: Linehan(out) Hogan(out) Doolan(in) Whitson(in)

Great day out on Saturday for the 2016 Peter Cooper Memorial Cup - over €1,000 raised for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust and brilliant to see more than 150 people turn up on the day to remember a good friend. We weren't sure if it would be possible to keep the tournament growing year on year but it has well exceeded our expectations and the standard has also improved year on year - a fitting tribute to Pedro. Congrats to @str_galacticos for winning their 3rd consecutive title and thanks to all who came out and made it a success! #ForPedro #Astro #CoopCup #Charity #KBRT
