Description
The Irish Air Corps in association with Irish Road Club and Lucan Cycling Racing Club present the annual Morgan Sparrow Memorial Sportif.
Commandant Morgan Sparrow was a helicopter pilot in the Irish Air Corps and was the Officer Commanding of 301 Squadron (Tactical Helicopter Squadron).
He was also a keen cyclist and raced for Irish Road Club.
In May 2012, while participating in the Dublin Inter Club league race, Morgan was involved in a crash and tragically suffered a fatal head injury.
His friends and colleagues from the Irish Air Corps, Irish Road Club and Lucan Cycling Racing Club now most a Sportive in his memory in the Wicklow hills where he trained as a Helicopter pilot and cyclist!
