Description
Irish Dancing School with Classes in Dublin and Navan Scoil Rince uí Shé or the O’Shea School of Irish Dancing was established in Dublin 15 by Áine and Séamus ó Sé in 1971, later expanding to Navan, Co. Meath.
Our classes cater for children of all ages and abilities – whether they aspire to compete or just to learn for fun.
Call Aine (086-2509147) or Seamus (087-2509147) for more details.
Our aim has always been to promote Irish Dancing in a fun, energetic and enjoyable class and, crucially, in a safe and comfortable environment for each child. Both boys and girls are nurtured and encouraged to learn a fantastic art form, meet new friends and develop new skills.
Each child will be taught by a fully qualified Irish dance teacher who is fully insured and appropriately vetted.
Learning to dance is beneficial to children in many ways, developing physical skills and stamina while building character, confidence and a sense of community
Our solo and teams dancers have enjoyed huge competitive success over many years winning more than 40 World titles as well as national and regional titles in Ireland, England, Scotland and North America.
Over the years, our journey has also taken us to almost every country in Western Europe and we have returned to many venues many times. The list of European Countries in which we have performed at prestigious festivals and other events includes France, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Holland, Austria, Hungary and Italy. We have even had the distinction of performing Irish Dancing in Japan. Closer to home, our dancers have entertained the great and the good at some of the most prestigious corporate and state functions.
It was no accident, therefore, that when Riverdance made its first dramatic impact on an unsuspecting world, we were to the fore in supplying the talent for the show. On the night when the interval act of the Eurovision Song Contest hit the screens of the world, no less than eighteen of the twenty-four dancers, who accompanied Michael Flatley and Jean Butler, came directly from our school. More than 60 of our dancers have gone on to work professionally with Riverdance, Lord of the Dance and many other shows besides.
We also produced and staged a number of hugely successful and highly acclaimed shows at Busch Gardens, Virginia and Florida – including “Emerald Beat” and “Irish Thunder” – over a nine year period.
