Kilmacud Musical Society
Description
Check out www.kilmacudmusicalsociety.com for information on our upcoming 2016/2017 KMS season.
It all began in 1982 when the then Kilmacud Musical & Dramatical Society was born. Our first musical Fiddler on the Roof was staged in 1984. In 1988, we then decided to focus all our efforts on musicals and since then have staged many of the best known and loved musicals available including Showboat, My Fair Lady, South Pacific, Oklahoma and Fiddler on the Roof.
In 2011, the Society celebrated its thirtieth anniversary with a special show, An Evening with KMS in The Stillorgan Park Hotel. This was such a huge success that it has been repeated ever since. That same year, KMS moved from its beloved 'home' venue St. Benildus College in Kilmacud to The Mill Theatre in Dundrum where we performed our second production of Oklahoma.
After this success, the Society saw another ‘sold out’ run of the classic musical Fiddler on The Roof, which was nominated for three awards at the annual AIMS Awards. Including best Actor, Best Musical Director and Best Chorus.
