This is the Maqam of the great hero of Islam, Lady Zaynab bint 'Ali. She is the daughter of Sayyida Fatima and the sister of Sayyiduna Husayn. She is one of the greatest women to walk this earth. Sayyida witnessed all the pain and heartbreak at Karbala, yet she still stood with the truth and never gave up. She saved the life of Imam Zayn al-'Abidin when he was about to get killed after Karbala. She courageously covered him and said, 'You will have to kill me before you kill him!' He was the only surviving male child of Sayyiduna Husayn and it was through him that the Prophet's ﷺ illuminated lineage continued until this day. Al-Muharram - The Month of God, the Month of Forgiveness (Not for Mourning but there is nothing wrong with being sad). Muharram is a Month Tawba and asking Forgiveness for Allah's Mercy. The 1st ten days of al-Muharram are its most blessed days. Abu ‘Uthman al-Nahdi said, “They used to venerate three sets of tens: (1) The last 10 nights of Ramadan, (2) the 1st 10 days of Dhul- Hijjah and (3) the 1st 10 days of al-Muharram.” From my Shaykh Sayyidina Abdul Qadir al-Jilani. Ashura is a day of great historical significance. On this day: Allah accepted the repentance of Sayyidina Adam ('Alaihis-Salaam) after his exile from Paradise; Allah saved Sayyidina Nuh ('Alaihis-Salaam) and his companions in the ark; Allah extinguished the fire in which Sayyidina Ibrahim ('Alaihis-Salaam) was thrown by Nimrod; And Allah spoke directly to Sayyidina Musa ('Alaihis-Salaam) and gave him the Commandments. On this same 10th of Muharram, Sayyidina Ayyub ('Alaihis-Salaam) was restored to health (from leprosy); Sayyidina Yusuf ('Alaihis-Salaam) was reunited with his father Ya’qub ('Alaihis-Salaam); Sayyidina Yunus ('Alaihis-Salaam) was taken out from the belly of the fish. and the sea was divided as the nation of israel was delivered from captivity and Pharoah’s army was destroyed. ‘Ashura is also the day when Sayyidina Dawud ('Alaihis-Salaam) was forgiven; The kingdom of Sulaiman ('Alaihis-Salaam) was restored; Sayyidina Isa ('Alaihis-Salaam) was raised to Jannah. And Sayyidina al-Husayn (Radiyallahu 'anh) (the Holy Prophet’s, Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam, grandson) achieved the honor of Martyrdom. Taken from Ghunya li-Talibi Tariq al-Haqq. From Sheikh Yusuf Al-Nabahani; In the month of Muharram the tragic events of Karbala are re-enacted. (This is not normal for the majority of Sunni communities but this is specific for some communities of the indo-paks and the Turks) Yet none go into the detail that the latter do (indo-paks), as others mention it briefly, and not in the agonising detail that is vividly painted for us.... Final remarks: We find this story difficult to comprehend at times and sometimes find it difficult to think about. We would like to see this event commemorated but in a rational and normal manner like the rest of the Muslim world. We do not mean to offend people but we really need to look how we manipulate people’s emotions because this is plainly wrong. If we really want to practice love towards the Ahl al-bayt them we should honour them instead of using the murder of one of forefathers as an event that we rally around them once a year and spend the rest of the year opposing them. My own notes: Remember that Muharram is the Month of God, the Month of Forgiveness, a Month of Tawba to Allah for this Mercy to forgive Sins, and Fasting this day Allah for for forgives Sins; Its a Major Sunnah Fast on the 9th and 10th or 10th and 11th Holy Prophet (Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam) said that the fast on the 10th of Muharram atones for the sins of the preceding year. [Sahih Muslim] What is key to remember; Fasting Forgives Sins of the preceding year, thus its first 10 days especially are for Forgiveness and Tawba. These 10 Days are the Days of (Tawba/ and Mercy) so turn towards your Lord for He Forgives your Sins. It has been related that they are the ten with which God made the forty-day term of Moses complete. It was related that Wahb b. Munabbih said, God, exalted be He, revealed to Moses ‘Order your people to draw near to me in the first ten days of al-Muharram. This beautiful man has the most incredible job in the entire world. He is over 90 years old and from amongst the Aghwat - the individuals who have the keys to the Prophetic chambers. They are honoured with the job of opening the chambers for guests. Their job is to also, 'clean the Prophetic chambers' but I don't like that particular description. I prefer to say that they are the men chosen by Allah to take from the blessings of the dust particles in the Prophetic chamber ﷺ. Everything connected to Rasūlullāh ﷺ is pure and purifying. Historically, the Aghwat would also light the lanterns and serve the Masjid. There used to be thousands in the Haramayn but now only a handful remain. According to some historians, this tradition in Masjid al-Nabawi began in the time of Sultan Salah al-Din. Shaykh Samir al-Nass once met the grandson of Shaykh Sarhity, a worker who changed the curtains within the noble chambers of Rasūlullāh ﷺ in the 1970s. The man spoke about the experience and said 'My grandfather would weep and say, 'Despite my age, my body felt like a young man. I went in with dust allergy but being in that room was a cure to my illness. A large piece of the curtain needed to be removed so I lifted it with ease on my shoulder. Later on, 5 young men tried to lift the same cloth but they were unable.' 'I wore thick glasses and was unable to see without them, but during the days he was in the chambers of the Prophet ﷺ, he used to miracously place thread into the needle whilst it was extremely dark without needing glasses. He was a man who had a hobby of collecting beautiful scents but he said, 'By Allāh, on the day the chambers were opened, I never smelt a fragrance, aroma, or perfume more heavenly than the fragrance in the room during those days.' Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) was born in Kandahar (Afghanistan) on 20 June 1831 in a respected Syed family and his father's name was Syed Mohammed Siddiq (R.A). Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) is Alhamdulillah one of the Fazand (Great Grandson) of Hazrat Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani (R.A) Baghdad. Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) was a caretaker in the shrine of Hazrat Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (Gouse e Paak) for 30 years in Baghdad. Then later, Tarbha Waale Baba migrated from Baghdad Capital City to a very small village Tarbha in Odisha in the 1931. Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) migrated to Tarbha on the direct orders of Gouse e Azam Dastageer (R.A) People from all over the world love Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) and refer him with various names, some people write his name as Hazrat Sayed Shah Abdus Shakoor Jilani (R.A). People from Pakistan and Afghanistan call him Pathan baba or Khan baba or Kabuli baba because he is from Kandahar (Afghanistan). People from Tamil Nadu call him with love and respect as Darba Appa, Appa means elder brother. Before Hazrat Tarbha Baba settled in village Tarbha, Tarbha was in a very remote area (very far) and there was no proper access to this village. Prior to his migration to Tarbha, people of Tarbha, used to suffer a lot because of black magic powers. After Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) migrated from Baghdad to Tarbha, he fought against all the odds and destroyed all the black magic powers from the village. Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) had the miraculous power given by Almighty Allah with which Hazrat cured many incurable diseases of several people. Patients with diseases like Cancer, Leprosy and many more incurable diseases were immediately cured by Hazrat Tarbha Baba (Darba Appa). This is one of the greatest Karamat (Miracle) of Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A). Thousands of people from India and even foreign countries still visit Tarbha baba and take his blessings. In the Sufi order, Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) is very well known Awliya’Allah (friend of Allah), that during his reign even other Awliya Ikraam used to visit him from far away places. Almightly Allah has blessed him with so much mystic power that it is believed that sweat (aroma) was coming out of his blessed body even after he left this world. And Allah Almightly has given him so much power that he once made a dead boy alive in front of everybody. People from Tarbha, still discuss about his several karamats (miracles) and because of Hazrat Tarbha Waale Baba, many people refer the name of Tarbha Village with love and respect as Tarbha Shareef (Tarbha Sharif) or Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) performed Hajj for 13 times, though he was a rich man but he never lived a lavish life, he lived in a small house (hut) and prayed five times Namaz. He was very much particular about Namaz (Salah) and he always insisted people to pray five times Namaz (Salah). Later he built a grand mosque at Tarbha. Tarbha Baba is also very well known for his charitable works. Many people believe he lived for several years but as per passport, he was 154 years old when he left this mundane world. He left this world in the year 1984 on March 16 (Friday) at 10:05 PM. Every year Urs ceremony is celebrated in Tarbha Shareef, where lakh's of people of different religions (Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs) come and take the blessings of Awliya’Allah (Friend of Allah) Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) People from different countries come and take the blessing of Hazrat Tarbha Baba. The Darbar (Tomb/Shrine) of Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) is a symbol of Peace, Love and Harmony among the different communities particularly for the people of Odisha. The Prophet said that the Dajjal will be unable to enter Madinah. He and his army shall camp on this exact mountain just outside the city and look upon the mosque of the Beloved. The city will shake causing all the hypocrites to leave and join him and only the believers shall remain. صلى الله عليه و سلم

Mawlana 'Abd al-'Alīm Siddiqui passed away on this day over in the 1954. He is a direct descendant of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq and is literally one of my inspirations in Da'wah. The shaykh was one of the greatest callers to Allah in the 1900s. He completed the Qur'an at 4. He began to deliver khutbah at 9. He graduated at the age of 16. From the age of 27, he travelled across the world close to 4 decades giving da'wah. He visited over 35 countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Burma, China, Japan, South Africa, Kenya, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, France, England, Canada, USA, the West Indies, Guyana and the Fiji Islands. He spoke Arabic, Persian, Urdu and learnt many of the languages of those he visited. He was literally responsible for the guidance of tens of thousands and so many are indebted to him. He was the first to build masjids and orphanages in many parts of the earth and the whole world loved him due to his character and spreading love of Rasūl'Allāh ﷺ. The paralysed and the ill were brought to him and his du'a would cure them. Hindus would meet him and wouldn't leave without saying La-ilaha-ila-Allah due to his great akhlaq. Christians would meet him and accept Islam just through his beautiful character. After all that travelling, he passed away in Madinah and is resting in the Baqi'i graveyard. رحمه الله
