Fantastic news from our colleagues in Galway University Hospital- Please spread the word. Their innovative work on the Development of a Serum Eye Drop Programme in Galway Blood and Tissue Establishment (GBTE), University Hospital Galway has been duly recognised. They are finalists in the HSE National Excellence Awards this year. This is for the production of Serum Eye Drops in their cleanroom. It really is a fantastic product that vastly improves the quality of life of patients who receive them. They are up for the Overall Award, the Best Team and the public vote, Popular Choice Award. So, please show your support for them and the work that they do and please vote for them!! You can vote by using the following link; http://hse.ie/eng/about/our-health-service/excellence-awards/nominees/serum-eye-drops/ It would be great visibility for laboratories across the board if they were able to take home at least one of the awards and you can be part of that by VOTING for them. I would also appreciate it also if you could spread the message in your own hospitals where possible. Every vote counts! Thanks very much for your time- Irene Regan, President
