The Central Bank Of Ireland has decided NOT to change mortgage deposit rules for First Time Buyers. From January 2018, there will be a reduced amount of exceptions available to Subsequent buyers (10% down from 20%). Do you agree with this?

While this is good news for self employed as they may now qualify for long term invalidity sick pay for the first time. Many people (PAYE or Self employed) still do not have illness cover. There are policies that will pay out for specific illnesses (e.g. cancer or heart attack) or Income Protection cover which pays monthly to cover ongoing rent/mortgage payments (which also qualifies for tax relief!).
