It's hard to keep a surprise party secret in a school full of curious boys, especially when one of them is my grandson, and knew exactly what was happening when he saw me arriving! They all played a blinder though, and the birthday boy was well and truly surprised- well done to all the staff, and thanks to Jess and Betty for your help.

Well, that was a fun weekend: four afternoon teas in three days - over eighty lovely people enjoyed the Pastry Fork experience! It's great to be busy after the recent unexpected "snow holiday", and to see bookings coming in for the next few months. Thanks to Phil for the washing up and more, and to Ellen for running the Pastry Fork stall at the Blackrock Village Sunday Market, couldn't have coped without ye!

Some rooms are just made for afternoon tea! It was a pleasure to set the table in the beautiful Crosshaven House for a Crosshaven Festivals fundraiser today: the guests were serenaded, fed, and given a tour of the house; not bad for a rainy Friday afternoon! Thanks for the welcome and the help to Noel, Stacey, and Traci.

What a week! The wintry weather had me confined to Pastry Fork HQ - no deliveries, a hen party in Kilkenny cancelled, and no cakes for Blackrock Village Sunday Market.. There are some Afternoon Tea pics though: a trip to Maryborough Hotel & Spa for a gorgeous afternoon tea with my daughter, who picked the perfect week to visit from Oz!
