Cheers 😆👌💪 Removing alcohol from my life around this time last year played a huge role in helping me get into photoshoot shape for the following July. Is it vital to get give up the booze in order to lose large amounts of fat in a certain time period? Absolutely not. Does it make things just that bit easier when you don't consume 1-2000 calories at a time from a source devoid of nutrition? (no protein, fibre, vitamins, minerals etc) Of course. However having a few drinks when on holidays is just one of the most natural things in the world. MyFitnessPal doesn't exist on holiday if you don't want it to. The only thing I would be conscious of nutrition wise when travelling is consuming some reasonable amount of protein. You can always lose that fat but try to hold on to that hard earned muscle 😉👌💪💪💪🇨🇱🇺🇸🇮🇪

A massive well done to all the participants of the January Intensive 10 Week Fitness and Fat loss program that finishes up this week. An even bigger well done and congradulations to all the winners. A fantastic 10 weeks of training, check ins, measurements, healthy eating, nights out and learning how to eat the foods you love but still stay on track 😊 There could only be one winner as Grainne De Hora put in an effort and energy to rival anything thing I have seen before. 15% total body weight drop, almost 14cm off her waist and a huge increase in her fitness and strength that now let her run the roads with ease and enjoyment 😊 Great work Grainne, you were a pleasure to coach and am looking forward to seeing what you can do on the next 10 week program 😃💪💪💪 An incredibly close best runner up was Gail Lenane. 11% total body weight drop, 8cm off her waist and over coming some tough injuries to smash out a great run in Ballycotten last Sunday 😊 Some of the best mental strength and positivity I have seen in a long time from Gail as injury hampered her training right from the get go. But due to Gail's compeditive nature she always focused on "what could she do" rather than what she couldn't. Well done Gail, you were inspiration to us all 😃👌💪 Last but not least the "Most Improved" accolade went to Brid O Mahony. Having never lifted a weight or ever really completed any gym work before starting to say Brid was apprehsive about starting may be a bit of an understatement 😄 Feeling quite stiff after her first session her resolve to continue was tested. Thankfully instead of thinking the program was not for her she approached me to make some homework ideas for her so she could practice the exercises that were completely new to her at home. Without fail she completed 2-3 home work outs per week and you could really tell in ty classes how much of a benefit it was to her as she improved week on week. Now she deadlifts, dumbell squats, bench presses and rows for fun. Well done Brid, it was great to see how much you improved over the 10 weeks. I am looking forward to the next 10 already 😃💪👌 Special mention to Sinead MacSweeney who won most dedicated and engaged but was not able to collect her prize last night. Not only did Sinead check in every week and make every session with out fail she really helped me set up the online booking system for the classes. Massive well done to Client of the Fortnight John Whelan. John came to me after Christmas looking to get in the best shape possible to run the half at the Cork City Marathon in June. So far so good as john's strength has gone through the roof, weight is done, girth measurements are down and body fat is down. There is literally less of John since he started so all else being equal he is a more efficient runner as he requires less energy to get from a to b. All this has been done while staying injury free also. A great trainer and very diligent with his nutrition which is the biggest factor in the equation for him. Double deadlift PBs down EMF way this morning. Seriously impressive stuff from Georgina and Iain 😊👌💪 The deadlift is such a great full body exercise that enhances strength&power and burns a nice few calories in the process. Beyond that it is also quite an mentally empowering exercise as people intially see the trap bar and believe they could never lift such a scary looking thing. Time spent on technique with the kettlebells gives people a firm understanding of the particulars of the exercise and the confidence that they can do anything in the gym setting with the right mindset.
