Every couple has a dream of a perfect wedding day and in most of them the sun is shining. Amy & Ian got that and much more on their day. In fact, the guys went one better with a wedding day in the middle of an "irish" heat wave! Amy and ian started their journey together in CIT (where all the best romances begin). Along the way came their little princess Mia. The morning started in Carrigaline for Amy and Ian left from his home in Ballincollig and onto the wonderful Fernhill House Hotely for the rest of their adventure. Did I mention the weather? WHAT a cracker and what a day to have an outdoor ceremony? Fernhill is breathtaking every day and is there a more fab aisle to walk down? Norma McElligott officiated. As always the team in Fernhill were amazing making everyone feel so welcome with Michael was on his best chauffeuring golf buggy style all day. Ian's mum organised the stunning cake from Trace of Cakes. She reminded me that the tradition was that the grooms mum looks after this. And she like me is a Dinneen (yes two nns) so it must be right! Jane and Ger have had many big adventures and we were privileged to be there for their biggest one to date, their wedding day. Jane and Gers jeep had always been there for them at the start of many adventures. Although it may not have made the end of many of them. Luckily for them it got Ger and the lads safe and sound to the church in Ballintotis with no need for the tow rope this time. Although it was a tight squeeze. Meanwhile in Janes, in the midst of the preparations there is always time for a little glass of whiskey with Dad. To Ballintotis Church with Fr Eamonn giving a beautiful ceremony filled with humour which is always a highlight. Even if there was one hitch during it capably fixed by Ger. After getting hitched we sped off for Charlesfort in style in Christy Buckley new vintage cars. Finally onto Macdonald Kinsale Hotel & Spa for lots more fun and laughs. Our jeep also made an appearance in a FAB Baker Boy Cakes Baker Boys cake to show the journey so far and the adventures to come.
