facebook.comWe will be hosting our EGM and Welcome Back Night for the 17/18 academic year on October 4th at 6pm in WW9. We are delighted to announce that we have two First Year Rep positions available on our committee for the coming year. If you are interested in running for one of these positions all you have to do is show up at the EGM and bring your friends to vote for you! You don't have to be studying International Development & Food Policy to run for a position, everyone is welcome to apply! If you can't make it, you can email your application for a specific position to intdev@uccsocieties.ie and we will display this application on the night so you're still in with a chance to be voted onto our committee. There will be a social gathering afterwards in our old haunt The Franciscan Well, where it is rumoured that free pizza may make an appearance... Even if you're not running for a position, we would love for you to meet us/catch up with us at the EGM and the social afterwards!
Calling for all Cork great people to come and support and be part of this very important rally where we will mark the third anniversary of our lockout in Kinsale Road DP centre, renewing calls to #enddirectprivision and #right2work. Come along let's make some collective noise. ADI and MASI will co-host the event followed by a public meeting.
A very interesting read. People talk a lot about the threat posed to Europeans by the influx of refugees in Europe, but they seldom discuss the threat that Europeans pose to migrants! There has been more than 3,500 attacks on refugees in Germany last year alone, 560 injured and 43 of them children. An alarming indicator of rising xenophobia in Europe 👎🏼
Hi everyone, we have a small favour to ask! Our friend and past Chairperson Maeve O'Gorman is working for AdvocAid in Sierra Leone and they are a bit strapped for cash at the moment. If they get 800 likes and shares on the below post they will receive enough funding to provide over 180 young women in Sierra Leone with free legal aid! So please like and share the original post, and get your family and friends to do the same!
