BIG WARNING HERE.. There is a very nasty version of the Encryption (Cryptoware/Ransomware) virus in circulation ..If it infects your machine it can encrypt all your files making them inaccessible ..It then demands a fee (€300- €500) to release the encryption key. This version can detect if its on a business or personal computer and if it's a business will demand up to €2500. The case I had today came in via an email attachment, pretending to be from DHL couriers about a problem with the delivery address. Unfortunately the victim today was actually expecting a package from DHL and they clicked the attachment as per the instructions in the email , thereby releasing the virus, which then demanded the €2500 for the release of the very important files. DO NOT OPEN or CLICK ON any unsolicited or unexpected attachments in emails or emails asking you to click a link. If in doubt, screenshot me before opening or just don't do it. Antivirus can't always protect you, especially if you are working off old operating systems (Windows XP in particular). Also always make sure you have all the security updates installed on whatever operating system you have. Last but not least BACKUP regularly. If you find discover or suspect infection from this, plug out/turn off your computer immediately and call me. Any questions, ask under post or PM.
