so here goes. I'll start with a positive and dicuss something I like. As everyone who knows me knows, I'm a complete MAC Addict. On nights out and special events it's all I use. I'm also I MAC PRO member so everything I use on my make up clients is MAC. But as everyone who wears MAC knows, it's quite pricey, so unless your made of money, it's not something you can use every day or to work (unless you have a glamorous job!!). So on days in-between using MAC I use Catrice. Most people know this brand from Penneys, but it can also be found in most pharmacies. Pricing is reasonable. It's not as much as the other brands you find in pharmacies such as Maybelline, Rimmel, Revlon, Bourjois, L'Oréal, No.7, Max Factor... The prices are almost identical to Essence (another brand we see in Penneys and some pharmacies) Essence is actually the sister brand of Catrice. There are both brands of the European based company Cosnova. (http://mobile.cosnova.com/en/). Essence products are similar to Catrice but the target market is more aimed at teenagers. (evident from the packaging and colours) Anyway, back to Catrice. On an almost daily basis, for a more natural look, products I use are Catrice foundation, brow pencil, blush, dark brown matte eye shadow (for setting the brows), a lip liner, liquid eye liner and finally the mascara. The foundation provides good natural coverage for the face. Then the brows (very important!), use the products to fill in and define. Add a bit of colour to your cheeks with the blush. If you have the time and can do so, use the liquid eyeliner to create a flick on your eyelids and then use mascara to open the eyes and create a sultry look. If you don't have a lot of time or experience, then at least do the foundation, brows and of course the mascara. A lot of makeup artists and fellow Makeup enthusiasts that I know, agree that most mascaras from well known designer brands (MAC, Inglot, NARS, Benefit.... ) are good... but not great. I , by far, personally think Catrice produce the BEST mascaras I have ever used. I've used plenty of their mascaras and every time I have, I've never been disappointed. The one I'm currently using is the "Luxury Lashes". It creates the volume and dramatic look that I require when wearing makeup. The brush ensures even application, and you can layer it on to create as much of a dramatic look as you want, without causing clumping. As with anything, of course there are some negatives. firstly, I find the mascara doesn't last too long (this could be because I use it so much!!) My current tube has lasted just over a month and while it still feels full, I've found that the liquid has become thicker and drier. Again, this could be because I've been using it a lot and therefore it has more exposure to air, causing it to dry up. However with such reasonable prices, you can afford to stock up on mascara when ever you need more! Overall, I would definitely recommend Catrice products to those who ask me. If you wear makeup frequently and don't want to be splashing out and using up all your precious MAC, then this is the brand for you. I would also urge all make up wearers to try out the mascara. You will definitely notice the difference. Catrice mascaras can be found in Penneys and selected pharmacies. Prices range from €3.99 to € 4.49. #Catrice
