After a very successful and thoroughly enjoyable launch last Thursday CrowdSound are looking forward to a rocking Woodford Session tonight. We have Voodoo Child, a Jimi Hendrix tribute par excellence. If you're a fan of Jimi, a fan of blues, rock, experimentalism, power trios and no-holds-barred live rock music, this one is for you! Thanks again to everyone who came out to support us last Thursday at Republic of Works and the Woodford! CrowdSound Official Launch. Thursday 1st June, Republic of WORK at 3pm. Interested in hearing about Ireland’s first decentralized record label? CrowdSound are delighted to announce that we are officially launching our company this Thursday 1st June at the Republic of work offices on South Mall, Cork City at 3pm. Co-Founders Joel Carey and Darren Dineen will give a Ted-Talk style presentation about the central functions of the company including our fair-trade style of artist management services, crowdfunding and the application of new and innovative technologies that will change the face of music publishing. We will also be announcing our partnerships with industry leaders around the world and how we can bring you closer to them. This will be followed by a Q&A session and networking. A music showcase will follow at The Woodford Cork, Paul St. at 8pm, exhibiting some of the exceptional artists we will be working with in the coming months. Tonight at the Woodford Sessions we celebrate two of our best performers who have both completed successful crowdfunding projects with us this week. As part of a massive thank you to all of their fans and patrons both Tootawl and Sarah-Beth, who will be joined by EimearAnn O Sullivan, are performing at the Woodford tonight. They will be performing songs from their forthcoming EPs, ‘Twisted Paranoia’ and ‘Your Muse’, which you have made possible through your generous pledges and vital support for these fantastic local artists. The Woodford Sessions: Official Launch

The Woodford Sessions was set up by CrowdSound in January of this year for two reasons. Firstly to each week give musicians around Ireland a platform to showcase their musical talent and secondly to create high quality video content for free together with our partners at Centrestage and Wolf Media in order to illuminate these talents, the personality behind the bands through interviews and to springboard these artists into success. Tonight we OFFICIALLY LAUNCH "The Woodford Sessions" with the band that started it all off - the talented trio OCD who using their video content from The Woodford Sessions are organising tours in the U.S and Europe this year! We will also have a special guest feature from the incredibly talented Hank Wedel who is also organising a U.S tour with CrowdSound! Join us tonight at 9.00 in The Woodford for quality music, great company and to hear a special announcement we have been waiting to share with you! The Woodford Sessions: Míde Houlihan

A very special night tonight as we officially launch the Woodford Sessions!! Crowdsound would like to extend a special thank you to everyone that has been invovled in making this fantastic event come together over the past 3-4 months: first and foremost the performers. the depth of talent in Cork alone continues to astound us; everyone who attended the sessions so far or supported us in anyway; the beautiful venue that is the Woodford, its managers and wonderful bar staff and the exceptional audio-visual/streaming and sound team. Tonight we celebrate with Crojayn, a young ban that blew us away at the sessions recently. For us they embody the spirit that the session is all about, a fine example of the reason we want to give new bands specific help as well as the resources at our disposal. Come celebrate the beginning of something very special with us!! Here is a clip of the very talented Míde Houlihan who performed a beautiful acoustic gig for us last week. This week the Woodford Sessions is delighted to host Míde Houlihan. An accomplished songwriter, Mide has won high praise from the likes of Mick Hanly whilst also winning songwriting awards like the IMRO Christy Hennesy Songwriting Award. We won't better Mick Hanly's description of Mide's particular talent: "When you hear ‘Eastenders’ being rhymed with ‘preggars’ in a Christmas song setting well s***!... it’s time to tune in.’’ If you like acoustic gems..
