Acoustic, Electric & Bass Welcome to Cobh Guitar School!
My name is Lisa Skidmore and I have been teaching guitar and bass lessons in Cobh since 2011. I hope this page will be a helpful and fun resource for students, past and present, and the first step for those of you thinking about taking up the guitar! My students range in age from 8 to 60, and I am happy to teach all levels and styles. I find students benefit more from one-to-one lessons, however I am happy to offer small group lessons to friends or family members wishing to come for lessons together.
A bit more about me… I have enjoyed playing the guitar for over 20 years and I am a classically trained guitarist to a Grade 8 standard. I completed the Music, Management and Sound course in CSN, Cork in 2002, specialising in Live Performance on electric guitar. Continuing my studies in England, in 2006 I was awarded a BA (Hons) Degree in Contemporary Popular Music (Guitar) from the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, UK. As well as teaching I enjoy playing regular gigs with various bands on both guitar and bass, and singing.
