Good News! Clonmel Men’s Shed has been selected by Tesco Clonmel as one of the three community groups that will benefit from the current round of the Tesco Community Fund. We, like all voluntary & community groups are always grateful to get a donation to defray our running costs, we are appealing to local Tesco customers to place their tokens in our compartment on the stand at the exit from the store. The fund is divided between the groups on a percentage support basis decided by the amount of tokens each group receives. Your support would be much appreciated and we thank you in advance for your assistance. The Shed is open to all men and new members will be made feel very welcome. Contact details are on our facebook page. Please share.

It is with great sadness that we share news of the sudden death of our friend and Shed member Joe Howley. Joe has been involved with the Shed since its establishment three years ago. We also had the pleasure of being involved with Joe through his work in the C-Saw Suicide Awareness Group when we helped with projects for the Remembrance Garden. Joe was an absolute gentleman and will be greatly missed by all his friends in Clonmel Men’s Shed. Sincere condolences to his wife Marie, son Michael, daughter Mairead, his grandchildren, brothers, sisters, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, nephews, nieces and extended family. May he Rest in Peace Reposing at his home on Wednesday from 3.00pm to 7.00pm with removal on Thursday to SS Peter & Paul’s Church, Clonmel. Funeral Mass on arrival at 1.00pm followed by burial in the Christus Rex Cemetery, Mooncoin, Co Kilkenny. House private on Thursday morning please.

It’s the time of year when the new & refurbished Rotary Club huts will be rolling again to the Remembrance Trees in O’Connell Street and at Tesco. This yearly event is to raise much needed funds for the Clonmel Hospice Movement. We are honoured to be in a position to be involved in this worthy cause.
