The Central Technical Institute, Clonmel is a constituent college of Tipperary ETB.  After the passing of the Agricultural and Technical Instruction Act in 1899, Clonmel Corporation set up a committee to establish a scheme of technical instruction for the town. In 1902, the Mechanics Institute was renamed as the the Central Technical Institute. The day school continued as a Trades Preparatory School, one of the first in the country and one of the few remaining to still carry the 'Central Technical Institute' name.

Some photos from a toy making module that Mr Nolan facilitated this year with first years from CCM. Our students made a large number of toys where they got a great deal of knowledge on woodworking processes. They then made a book on the projects in a comic book style some of which can be seen below! Very impressive! 👍👍

Well done to GCC & CCM students and their teacher Liam O' Reilly who raised €346 in 40 minutes yesterday busking in clonmel showgrounds. The money raised was donated to Councillor Pat English on behalf of Clonmel Soup Kitchen .

Top Enginnering Award for Gaelcholáiste Chéitinn Student Gaelcholáiste Chéitinn is proud to announce that student Connor Mac Íomhair has been awarded a medal for Excellence in Engineering by the Engineering Technology Teachers Association in their ‘Young Engineer of the Year competition. The medal is awarded to the student judged to have achieved the best solution to the Leaving Certificate Higher Level Engineering design brief. To reach the final, projects have undergone rigorous scrutiny at local, regional and national level by judges ranging from engineering teachers, professional engineers and other experts. Connor’s rescue helicopter was selected from 22 nationwide project design briefs. Connor is now studying Architecture in University College Cork. Guímid gach rath leis. We would also like to congratulate Connor’s Engineering teacher Ciarán Ó Murchú.

Well done to our students from GCC and CCM who competed in the South Tipperary Talent Show yesterday! Here we have Mr O'Reilly and Josh Slater who won the Best performer on the day and has qualified for the County Final! Well done Josh! Also competing on the day were Oisín Forristal, Cian MacGabhann, Sean Breathnach, Alannah Champion and Kaitlyn Ní Ríagáin!

The Nursing Studies Group in CTI l Senior College are organising a food drive on behalf of Saint Vincent De Paul. They would be very grateful if students and staff could please donate some non-perishable goods. i.e. tinned foods, pasta, biscuits tinned fruits etc., There is a large cardboard box just inside the main door of each school.

Today our second year Gael Choláiste students completed a mirror project in woodwork. On completion they went down to Niall in Clonmel Glass and Mirror where he showed the students how glass is cut, fitted and glued into the frames. We would like to thank Clonmel Glass and Mirror for facilitating us.
