facebook.comWe can read every book and every page in google about Dyspraxia by the “experts”. But the real expert is the person who experiences it day in day out. This was done by an 11 year old boy who tells us how his Dyspraxia affects him. Every child is different and there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to Dyspraxia. Listen to your child - they know best!

Thank you for your continuous support and for reminding us how lucky we are every day to do what we do! We hope that your 2018 is filled with happiness, love, good health and gratitude 😊 Appreciate and cherish all of the time you spend with your loved ones over the holidays, enjoy some well deserved rest, and keep safe! The second series of The A Word starts tonight on BBC 1 at 9pm. The first series sparked a lot of conversation about Autism and there were some controversial opinions on how Autism was portrayed. I found it quite emotional to watch at times, mainly because of the impact of Autism on Joe’s family - his strengths and difficulties and the positive and negative impact these had on daily family life. Looking forward to this series. So much admiration for all parents, guardians, and siblings of a child with autism 💙 Eavan Have a watch http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09fc77r
We are having a great time at Thrive today building spooktacular obstacle courses!🎃👻👽 Benefits of building an obstacle course include: - Working on sensory processing skills. - Working on sequencing and memory. - Working on motor planning. - Working on building strength, balance, and bilateral coordination. - Working on gross and fine motor skills. -Obstacle courses are created by the child themselves, using their own creative ideas, so the child develops a great sense of achievement and accomplishment when they complete their obstacle course. Have a great midterm everyone and stay safe! Happy Halloween!👽👻🎃 Team Thrive! 👻🎃👽

"Every day in a hundred small ways our children ask "Do you see me?", "Do you hear me?", "Do I matter?"... For anybody that knows me or has listened to me give talks and trainings you know how much children's mental health means to me. Raising awareness and understanding about the mental health of children is something we do on a daily basis at Thrive. It is an ongoing daily conversation in our office among our staff, in our clinic with parents, and in our schools with teachers because we are so passionate about it. And sometimes we need to be the voice for children that can't quite communicate or express it for themselves. Children are our future. It is easier to build up a child than to repair an adult. Your child's mental wellbeing is more important than their grades or performance. Eavan 😊 #worldmentalhealthday #mentalhealthawareness
The biggest welcome back to Ealanor Smith who has joined our OT team 🤗 Ealanor is well known to Thrive and our kids and families as she spent 3 months with us earlier this year on her final Masters degree placement. I don't know who is more excited to have her back - us or the children!! Ealanor is funny, playful, and extremely compassionate and caring. We are both proud and delighted to have her "officially" part of Team Thrive :)
