This brown bread recipe is so easy and really tasty! Preheat oven to 180C. You will need a 2lb loaf tin, rubbed with olive oil and sprinkled with brown flour. In a large mixing bowl: 170 gms plain flour 230 gms wholemeal flour 2 teaspoons of bread soda ½ teaspoon of salt Give a little mix then add 500 mls buttermilk and 1 tblsp olive oil. Mix completely, it will be sloppy! Pour into the loaf tin and pop in the oven for 40 minutes. You can also make double recipe if you have two tins and freeze one loaf, you will make use a whole litre of buttermilk!
