Síobhra clocked an impressive 35.13 over 10,000m at the Colonial Relays, in Williamsburg, Virginia over the weekend. 🇺🇸 . . Síobhra has gone from strength to strength already this year and this is only the beginning ⭐️ . . ⭐️ SOCCER STAR ⭐️ . . We are delighted to have welcomed @blessingk02 to the clinic for a session last week ⚽️ . . Blessing is an immensely talented young athlete, playing for @wexfordyouthswomens and internationally for the Irish U17s. . . We worked with Blessing on sprinting mechanics and some injury prevention which will allow her to continue to progress her career as a soccer player to new heights 🥇 . . We wish Blessing huge success in the future and look forward to to welcoming her to the clinic again in the near future ⭐️⭐️

⭐️ NON-SURGICAL SPINAL DECOMPRESSION ⭐️ . . The first stretch that we incorporate when trying to encourage decompression is a kneeling lat stretch. You may have seen this stretch before, in yoga it’s called the child’s pose. 🧘🏽♂️ . . There are a few different variations of this stretch, including turning your hands and reaching across your body. . . Regardless of these variations, the main part of the exercise remains the same. Make sure to keep your hips down onto your feet and your chest down towards the floor as much as possible 💪🏼 . . ⭐️ NON - SURGICAL SPINAL DECOMPRESSION ⭐️ . . The space between your spinal bones (vertebrae) decreases over time due to day to day life and gravity. When this happens, the soft, jelly like disc material is pushed outward and can then pinch a nerve 😵 . . So what is the theory behind spinal decompression? 👩🏻⚕️ . . If you could pull the compressed vertebra apart, it would open up the space, take the pressure off the disc and then the disc would stop pressing on the nerve - PROBLEM SOLVED 🤗🤓 . . There are different methods of spinal decompression, including some surgical options. . . However, before you think about the surgical route, there are ways to try spinal decompression at home. . . Keep an eye on our page throughout the week for some of the stretches we use in the clinic to encourage spinal decompression 👍🏼⭐️

⭐️ SPINAL HEALTH - MRI SCANS ⭐️ . . Often patients and health care professionals rush to get a scan in order to rule out serious conditions or to confirm what is causing your back pain. 👩🏻⚕️ . . However - scans only show something significant in a minority (less than 5%) of patients presenting with back pain 🏥 . . In many cases “something” will show up on a scan. For example : a bulging or degenerated disc. These sound scary and can often provoke a negative stress response in a patient which in turn may actually add to the pain and discomfort they are already experiencing 🤯. . . Bulging discs and degenerative changes have lots in common with grey hair and wrinkles - they are quite common as we get older and are not always harmful or painful 🤷🏻♀️ . . Before rushing to get your back scanned - why not call in to our clinic for a consultation with one of our therapists who can then put a plan in place to help you on your journey to spinal health ⭐️

Seriously there’s only one @star_ireland leg in ribbons and limping yesterday X-ray and manip treatment from the main man and 80% better today and even got on the trails. Also thanks to Darren Browne & @ianpurcell_physicaltherapy who I work closely with as a therapist and coach @thenaduraclinic
