Belturbet Counselling and Healing
Description
Belturbet Counselling and Healing One of our main stumbling blocks is our self- image and how we want to be perceived. We are inclined to rate ourselves by the way we would like to be seen and may be using a lot of energy keeping everybody else happy while neglecting ourselves. We can feel inadequate when faced with certain situations and might be discouraged by things we hear or read. We may feel unloved or punished by God or by life in general. Some are struggling with stale relationships, others are affected by stressful working conditions or lack of work and the prospect of emigration.. Others again are burdened with earlier, defining, life – events. Some have experienced abuse, either physical or emotional and may have resigned themselves to subjection.
Seeking out a Counsellor may be considered a sign of weakness by some, but it is your own choice and it’s a first step to taking control of your life and embarking on a journey of autonomy and empowerment. Old choices are reviewed and a new choices can be pursued to facilitate healing. A Counselling Psychologist cannot promise a "quick-fix" and it is the client (you) who determines pace and direction of a counselling session.
Counselling is about you finding the answers within yourself to whatever may be holding you back or making you sad. You will be supported in your pursuit of new choices - driven by new hope that your circumstances can change for the better..
I trained as a Counselling Psychologist and Pastoral Counsellor and worked for many years with cancer patients, migrants and in a Church setting.
