A gentle stroll exploring the cultural heritage of Ballyvaughan including some fascinating stories of the village, its features and what went on there in the past. WHEN: 10.30-12 noon ADM: A donation to landscape charity, Burrenbeo Trust WHERE: BALLYVAUGHAN Meet at the new pier with slipway (past the thatch cottages). FARMING INNOVATION FAIR Hosted by the Burren IFA, in conjunction with the Burren Programme & Teagasc. Includes a Teagasc presentation on animal nutrition on Burren Winterages, a display of local vintage machinery, a demonstration on Biochar production, trade stands displaying products for feeding and watering livestock, locally made gates, machinery for scrub control and much more. Sales reps from the major supplier as well as members of the Burren Programme and Teagasc. This event will be of interest and relevance to farmers everywhere but particularly for farmers in Burren Programme WHEN:11am-2pm ADM: FreeWHERE: BALLYVAUGHANGAA Pitch. FARM DEMO WALK A walk with a local farmer and Burren Programme staff. An insight into how a results-based agri- environmental scheme works in practice WHEN: 2pm-4pm ADM: Free WHERE: BALLYVAUGHAN Meet @ GAA pitch SHORTHORN MART Opportunity to view Burren shorthorn cattle on sale WHEN:12.30-3pm ADM: Free WHERE: KILFENORA Mart FANORE HERITAGE WALK The Village of our Childhood with locals Joe Queally and Patsy Carrucan. A gentle stroll exploring the cultural heritage of Fanore including the deserted village of Loch an Uisce. The slip way at Loch an Uisce was the link between the Aran Island and Connemara where fish and Poteen were brought in long ago. The walk will also visit Cathair Ballyiney, feature singing and much more. WHEN: 2pm-3.30pm ADM: A donation to landscape charity, Burrenbeo Trust WHERE: FANORE Meet outside O’Donohue’s Pub.
