After all the commotion with storms Ophelia and Brian last week our 5th and 6th class composed some poems based on the events that unfolded. There are two examples of these below. Also, the school has started on the route to obtaining the Amber Flag award. This is an initiative that promotes a culture change in how pupils deal with mental health and happiness. We’re only starting on this process but so far we’ve introduced ‘Meditation Mondays’ and ‘Thoughtful Thursdays’ which aim to give the children the chance to take time out of their day to think positively about themselves and reflect on what is good in their lives. Finally, the u11 ladies county final will not be taking place until after the midterm. No date has been given yet.

On Thursday of last week our u11 girls won their football blitz in Bansha which meant they had to play a county semi final in atrocious conditions in Cashel today. They came out victorious and now look forward to the final which is scheduled for next week some time. The skill level and dogged attitude of these young ladies today was exceptional and a credit to the work being done with them at club level. Not even today’s rain could dampen our spirits after the game, roll on the county final. We’ll keep you posted once a fixture comes through. 😀⛈🌪🏐

The electricity has been restored to the school so looks like we should be fine to open tomorrow morning. Sorry children! See you tomorrow morning.

Hello all. As things stand there is no electrical power in the school. Unfortunately the school cannot open without electricity as our toilets rely on an electrical pump. Our text a parent facility is not getting through to many people so we would appreciate it if you could like and share this message, and spread the word around. Hopefully this situation will be resolved before the morning and the school can open as normal. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Bernard O'Connell

Sorry everyone, I made a mistake with my previous post. Junior infants are in until 12:30pm up to the 18th of September. Senior infants are in for the full day from the beginning. Sorry for any confusion. See you all in the morning.

We hope that you are all enjoying the summer holidays so far. We are now in a position to confirm that both Ms O'Donnell and Ms Keating will be joining our team on 31st August. Ms O'Donnell will be teaching 1st/2nd class and Ms Keating will be teaching 3rd/4th class for the coming school year. We wish them the very best and look forward to working with them both.

Another year done and dusted! Just a quick message from all the staff to say a big thank you to all the parents and Parent's Council for all their help, support and fundraising during the year. We'd also like to wish Mrs O'Connor all the best in her retirement. She'll be missed around the school. Finally, to the 6th class of 2017; have a wonderful summer and all the best in the bright future you all have ahead of you. What a lovely bunch of boys and girls, a credit to your families each and every one of you. The future is bright… I've attached a picture to show just how far their journey through Scoil Teampall Toinne has brought them. Slán tamaill agus bain taitneamh as na laethanta saoire.

On another note. Last Thursday we played an u13 hurling blitz where we faced Clogheen, Burncourt and Kilcash. It was a super competitive blitz with teams all beating each other. In the end our boys came out victorious and will now go on to play in the county final which will take place in Semple Stadium. Their opponents are Clonoulty NS but the date and time is still to be set! We'll be hurling mad now for the next few weeks in preparation. Will be sure to keep you all posted once we receive the fixture.
