Welcome to the official Facebook page for Ballyhack Castle an OPW managed site Ballyhack Castle is located on a steep slope in a commanding position overlooking Waterford estuary. The castle, a large tower house, is thought to have been built c. 1450 by the Knights Hospitallers of St. John, one of the two great military orders founded at the beginning of the 12th century at the time of the Crusades.

Just a reminder that our model-making demonstration will take place in the castle Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th from 2.00-4.00pm both days. We had a wonderful turnout last weekend so come early to avoid disappointment!
