We are based in Athlone, Co. Westmeath and have worked with clients all over the midlands.
The garden design side of the company has really grown over the last few years and is something we are passionate about and will continue to grow.
We work closely with local landscapers, paving specialists, craftsmen and garden centres to ensure you get a beautiful bespoke garden designed just for you.
The architectural design section primarily focus on domestic houses.
We have worked on all design aspects of new build houses, home extensions, period renovations and restorations. Our projects range from traditional style to contemporary design.

I am delighted to be part of this great project. Console, The National Suicide Charity, have a centre in Athlone and it provides a fantastic service. Internally the building is beautiful but the garden out the back needs a lot of work. Gerard contacted me and asked me if I would be interested in preparing a design for them. Ganlys Of Athlone are helping to source and supply a lot of the materials but we still need lots of help. Help Needed: We are going to develop a planting plan and we will need a lot of support with getting these flowers and shrubs and also planting them. We need a steel fabricator or welder to make some brackets to hold timber screens. We have a paving contractor who has agreed to help but the more the merrier. We also need carpenters to help with the decking and garden features. Hands on deck- We will need a lot of help clearing, planting, painting, finishing touches, etc,. I received a lot of strange looks when I went into Ganlys Ganlys Athlone Longford Mountbellew today to check on progress. Honestly........Have I gone too far? I would love to hear your comments on this.....

This really is worth thinking about. This is a play school for children where the design process considered the fact that they were actually children......unusual right! Think about primary schools also, how many are just functional, in the sense they form rooms to house children and are connected by long, dark, cold corridors....? Why then, when we extend these schools, do we copy that format and perpetuate this antiquated process? Why do we not develop a brief as we would for any other building but use the children as the Client: Age: Time Spent in School: Purpose: Interests: How do you Spend Lunch: Where do you talk to your friends: Where do you put your lunch/ coat: Where do you play if its raining: What do you need: What would you Like: Etc.. Listen to the kids, interpret their ideas to create a realistic, professional design that would make going to school everyday exciting and inspiring. Listen to the teachers also and ensure the facilities were appropriate to allow them to do their job. Is this design cost prohibitive? No. Could it cost more? Possibly- but not necessarily! Ganlys Athlone Longford Mountbellew are now stockists of natural stone and walling and have asked us to redesign the huge paving showroom in Athlone. We grabbed the opportunity with both hands- any excuse to design for natural stone.... Anyone that knows the existing showroom will know it had a comprehensive range of paving but it felt quite heavy and grey. We intend to introduce some colour and textures and divide the spaces into areas that you could envision in your own garden. There is even going to be a night garden. So work has started. Existing paving has been lifted, the marking out is taking place and Niall Shortall and the PaveXpress team are on standby. There is an official opening day coming up, keep an eye on Ganlys Facebook page for that. A lot of work to do lads.......no pressure!
