Art critics and philosopher, Danto, claims the importance of Duchamp’s “Fountain” is to demonstrate that beauty is not a necessary component of the concept of art. Danto also points that Duchamp not only refutes the traditional definition of art and open other possibilities for art development, but also transformed art and turned art into philosophy.
