Kürzlich haben wir dem Riverwatcher an der Dhünn in Leverkusen einen Besuch abgestattet. Dabei haben wir ihn nicht nur gründlich gereinigt sondern auch die Hardware auf den neuesten Stand gebracht! Das System verfügt nun über Infrarot Licht und Kamera für den Betrieb in der Nacht und die Rückwand wurde mit einer neuartigen Anti Fouling Folie versehen. Vielen Dank hierbei an 3M die uns hierfür einen Prototypen zum Testen zur Verfügung gestellt haben! Recently we have been visiting the Riverwatcher at River Dhünn in Leverkusen. During our visit we conducted both a cleaning and a hardware upgrade. The system is now equipped with Infrared light and camera for operation during night. The back plate is now covered with a new anti fouling foil. Thanks to 3M for the opportunity to test their new prototype foil with the Riverwatcher. #riverwatcher #iamhydro

Einsatz des Riverwatchers im Zuge des Wiederansiedlungsprojektes von Lachsen (salmo salar) im Freistaat Sachsen. Ab ca. Der Nikolaus hat die Bundesanstalt für Gewässerkunde (BfG) in Koblenz dieses Jahr etwas früher besucht und ihr ein paar Riverwatcher mitgebracht. Die Systeme werden zur Erfassung der Fischwanderung in Fischaufstiegshilfen u.a. an den Bundeswasserstraßen eingesetzt. Santa Clause visited the The German Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG) and brought some Riverwatchers. Letzte Woche haben wir an der Murg im Schwarzwald eine Niedervolt Fischscheuchanlage installiert. Das Neptun System der Firma Procom wird einer Feldstudie mit radiogetaggden Aalen unterzogen um die Funktionsfähigkeit des Systems auf Aale zu prüfen. Das System soll die Passage in den Triebwasserkanal der Wasserkraftanlage verhindern und die Fische in einen Bypass führen. Last week we installed a low voltage fish guidance system at river Murg in the Black Forest. The Neptun System from Procom will be field tested with radiotagged eels and how they behave at the barrier. The system uses a low voltage electric field to block fish passing the barrier towards the hydropower plant and guide them to a downstream bypass.
