Yesterday we said goodbye to Carlos, our incoming exchange student from Portugal. It was great having you with us! Carlos reports: "When I look back at this semester, I am very glad that I chose to do this. You can explore a new country, a new lifestyle, a new language, new teaching methods, and you can also make great friendships with people from different cultures." Our outgoing student's post about ERASMUS Semester in Canada. "Hey everyone, my name is Selsela Arya and I am studying "Health and Social Services Management" at the RheinAhrCampus of the Hochschule Koblenz. Currently I am doing my exchange semester at the Brock University in Canada! Thorold, St. Catharines, the town I live in, in the south of Ontario, is located right next to the border to the U.S. and the beautiful Niagra Falls. The courses that I am taking are very interesting, the lecturers are helpful and the University offers a lot of academic and non-academic activities. The courses are not that big, and they are very interactive so it help us to interact with local students easily. I am enjoying my semester here at Brock, and especially the friendly and very helpful Canadians make my exchange semester very special. Greetings from Canada. Selsela" Next could be YOU! Challenge yourself and try a new way of life like Selsela! Are you interested in studying abroad? Hallo! My name is Carlos, and I am an international student from Porto, Portugal. I am the second one on the right side, with the greyish winter coat. Last weekend I visited Copenhagen with my five international friends. Hannah from Canada, Marina from Spain, Daniela from Italy, Fathi from Jordan, and Sara also from Jordan. As soon as I arrived there, I notice that it was impossible not to fall in love with the city. I like to call it the city that never sleeps, because you can always find nice people and nice places to relax regardless of the time, or the day of the week... https://rheinahrcampusexchangestudents.blogspot.de/2018/01/copenhage-cold-city-with-warm-heart.html
Our Erasmus students, Dirk Fraterman from the Netherlands, and Carlos Moreira from Portugal, held several workshops at Gymnasium Nonnenwerth for intercultural exchanges with the pupils there. We exchanged cultural dishes as well as taught the pupils some fun facts about Netherlands. Did you know that Holland and the Netherlands are actually not the same? There are more bicycles than people in the Netherlands, and the King of Netherlands used to be a KLM pilot! At the end of the project the pupils received an Erasmus 30 Goodie Bag with recipes for typical Dutch dishes which they can prepare for themselves at home!

Take the Chance – Become a part in the Buddy System at RheinAhrCampus The Buddy System is a project with the purpose of welcoming, integrating and helping all the International students during their stay in Remagen. The Buddies are...motivated students from RAC who volunteer to show International students the campus and the city, help them with issues they might come across, support them in the integration process, among others. The Buddies will...have the opportunity to gain intercultural experience without leaving Germany, meet new cultures and create an international network. They will also get priority boarding to all our events, and a certificate of participation in the programme. Availability in Remagen from mid-March is preferred to help our incoming international students settle in before the start of the semester. REGISTRATION IS OPEN.
