Actin dynamics in invasion and metastasis
Description
Research group investigating actin reorganization processes in tumor invasion and metastasis with the goal to identify potential therapeutic targets. Reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton underlies a wide range of biological processes from wound healing to tumor cell invasion. We investigate mechanisms of actin dynamics in invasion and metastasis of epithelial tumors (colon and bladder cancer) and Ewing's sarcoma. Therefore, we apply a wide methodological spectrum from histology and immunohistochemistry to protein biochemistry and in vitro/in vivo metastasis assays.
