Founded in the Düsseldorf suburb of Haan-Gruiten in 2001, Redfield Records has since become one of the best-established record companies in the genres of Hardcore, Emo and Indie in Germany. With a back catalogue of over 60 releases and the co-operation with various foreign distribution partners, the label has laid the groundwork for a successful and sustainable future for its artists and the business alike. Redfield Records has furthermore proven to have the right touch when signing yet to be discovered bands and leading them to becoming renowned artists, as shown through bands like Fire in the Attic, Trip Fontaine, Parachutes or A Case of Grenada.

The year 2004 marks the second milestone in the form of founding Redfield Publishing, which was later in 2008 seconded by introducing Edition Redfield Records to the Hamburg-based ROBA music publishing company.

That very same year, Redfield Records once again showed courage and the capability of thinking outside the box by releasing the new Fire in the Attic record as a free give away with VISIONS magazine. In addition to the conventional in-store release on April 18, the whole record, named Cum Grano Salis, was available for free two days earlier in the May issue of VISIONS with a print run of 87.000 copies. A 2-disc deluxe edition, along with a limited vinyl version was made available in stores.
