Henkel, BASF and Solidaridad support around 5,500 smallholders in Indonesia

Sustainable farming methods, efficient production and high occupational health and safety standards are some of the most important conditions for certified palm oil production. This is why BASF is working together with Henkel and the development organization Solidaridad Network to support a project where local Smallholders can learn how to fulfill these requirements.

#DoYouKnowThisSite? The salt lakes take on a pink colour from the presence of micro-algae. They are used to produce organically derived beta-carotene, a natural food coloring and nutritional supplement. The production site shown in these pictures makes BASF the world’s largest producer of algal beta-carotene.

Ready, steady, go!

Since yesterday, students from around the world get together at the Hockenheim Circuit for the Formula Student Germany e.V. to have their self-constructed racing cars judged by a professional jury. BASF has been involved in the competition as a sponsor since 2012. We wish all participants lots of fun and success at the competition!

New power: One of the two gas turbines at the south power plant at the Ludwigshafen site was undergoing routine maintenance during the last eight weeks. During this time, the turbine was equipped with new blades which are more resistant and better shaped. With these changes, the lifespan and efficiency of the plant were greatly improved.
