The G-POWER Bi-Tronik 5 power module increases the output of the AMG GT and GT S models to 610 hp at 6,500 rpm, with 755 Nm of torque between 4,000 and 5,500 rpm. For the AMG GT (Standard: 462 hp/600 Nm), this means a staggering increase in output of 148 hp and 155 Nm. Thus modified the AMG GT and GT S rocket to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, a 0.4 sec improvement over standard for this benchmark sprint time. The Bi-Tronik 5 power module connects to the factory-side engine control unit and its microprocessor modifies the data acquired by the vehicle sensors and then forwards this information to the standard AMG engine control unit. This approach guarantees a perfect match between G-POWER’s high-performance plug-and-play module and the original motor hardware. Importantly, both the diagnostic and the engine protection functions remain unaffected. As a further engine protection measure, the increased output only comes online once the prescribed oil temperature is reached, and is deactivated when the maximum permissible cooling water temperature is reached, such as when running under full load in high ambient temperatures. As the Tronik 5 module is external to the cars ECU, it is not affected by any factory software update. Using their knowledge of the hardware and electronics of the BMW M 3.0-litre TwinPower Turbo straight-six, the G-POWER engineers have extracted an extra 150 hp, making the new headline number a rousing 600 hp (441 kW). The hardware changes are a bespoke titanium exhaust system featuring new downpipes without catalytic convertors (export only), and a rear silencer box culminating in four 90 mm carbon tailpipes. This system significantly reduces exhaust backpressure and exhaust gas temperatures, allowing the use of higher boost pressure for increased power. The revised fuel, spark and boost mapping parameters are governed by the G-POWER Bi-Tronik 2 V3 electronic control unit remap, which is calibrated to each individual cars engine for optimum performance. As this output level is beyond the headroom of the factory turbochargers, G-POWER undertakes extensive modifications, including aerodynamically optimised turbine wheels and flow-optimised CNC- machined turbine and compressor housings. The resulting improvement in overall efficiency delivers 600 hp accompanied by a significant increase in torque from 550 to 740 Nm. The stopwatch says that the G-POWER M4 passes 100 km/h from rest in just 3.7 seconds, while removal of the electronic top speed limiter gives the car a top speed north of 320 km/h. For owners who do not wish to go the whole hog G-POWER also offer two milder alternatives. The most basic conversion provides an output of 520 hp (382 kW) and 700 Nm from a choice of the Bi-Tronik 2 V1 ECU bespoke remap, or the Bi-Tronik 5 V1 external power module. The middle conversion for the M4 Competition provides 560 hp (411 kW) and 720 Nm, via either the Bi-Tronik 2 V2 remap or the Bi-Tronik 5 V2 module, plus the exhaust downpipes without catalytic convertors. Uprating the chassis performance to safely deploy the extra power is the job of the G-POWER GM4-RS coilover suspension. This suspension gives the car a lower, more purposeful stance, and optimises tyre grip. Low unsprung weight helps acceleration, braking and turning, and the popular HURRICANE RR forged double spoke design wheels provide this desirable characteristic. The M4 uses 9.0 and 10.5x21-inch wheels shod with 255/30ZR21 and 295/25ZR21 tyres. Cadillac ATS-V Coupe Twin Turbo Black Line by GeigerCars.de If you want a powerful American sports car in Germany, you normally go for the usual suspects: muscle cars like the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, or the more hard-core Dodge Viper and Chevrolet Corvette. Cadillac, whose reputation was built around luxury sedans, would normally not figure in this shortlist. But Cadillac has had the sporty V-models in their range for some years now, and uprated to 508 hp by GeigerCars, their ATS-V Coupé suddenly becomes an interesting and exclusive alternative to the Mustang and Camaro. • Output of the twin-turbo V6 increased to 508 hp / 374 kW • Base car for 74,900 euro • 19-inch OZ Leggera wheels with tyres for 3,990 euro • Black Line package for 750 euro Increasing the output of the twin-turbo V6 engine by 39 hp, GeigerCars takes it over the magic 500-hp threshold, with peak torque boosted from 603 to 659 Nm. More power for the crossover Cat: CPA Performance tuning for the Jaguar F-Pace 20d It was really only a matter of time before the big cat leapt onto the SUV bandwagon, and now Jaguar’s all-new F-Pace brings a big slice of British style to the fastest growing automotive segment. Powered by a 2.0 litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine producing 180 hp and 430 Nm of torque, the entry-level F-Pace is relatively economical, but with 1,700 kg to pull, straight-line performance is quite leisurely. It does not have to be this way however, and drivers who want to give their F- Pace 20d to live up to the promise made its sleek looks can now turn to CPA Performance for the PowerBox and PedalBox upgrades to provide matching performance and response. Three levels of PowerBox are available: PowerBox Pro, PowerBox Ultra and PowerBox Nitro. The entry-level PowerBox Pro, which costs just 189 euro increases power and torque by 20-percent to 215 hp and 515 Nm. The intermediate PowerBox Ultra gives the F-Pace 20d CPA, 223 hp and 533 Nm for a modest 299 euro, and importantly incorporates the Engine Safe System and one-year engine warranty. Top of the CPA Performance Diesel performance kits for the F-Pace 20d is the PowerBox Nitro, which delivers 228 hp and 547 Nm torque. This flagship conversion costs 499 euro, and comes with remote control activation and a two- year engine warranty. Dodge Viper ACR by GeigerCars.de A general conversation about American sports car legends often starts with the sleek Corvette, or iconic pony cars like the Ford Mustang, before moving on to the Dodge Viper, a relative youngster in US Muscle Car folklore. Named after a poisonous snake, the Viper’s standout feature is its powerhouse 8.4 litre V10 motor. With 645 hp out of the box, this engine needs no further tuning for life in the street-legal Club Racing spec Viper ACR. While this highly focused Viper flagship model has been available from GeigerCars.de for several months, the Munich-based US car specialist now offers a comprehensive tuning package that includes an uprated engine and forged alloy wheels. SPEED-BUSTER: Up to 695 hp for the BMW M5 Ever since it made its debut in 1972 the BMW 5-Series has been one of the best-selling middle class prestige saloons. In 1986, the high performance 286 hp M5 bowed in, taking the crown as the fastest production saloon in the world. In its current series F10 guise, the M5 comes with between 560 and 600 hp depending on the variant. However, for those who want even more, renowned chip tuning specialists SPEED-BUSTER has a muscle-building programme for the Bavarian blockbuster. Using their Chiptuning-Box, whose basic principles have been proven over 20 years, the engineers re-mapped the electronic brain controlling the TwinPower Turbo V8, resulting in up to 695 hp for the “30 Years” Anniversary model. This is an increase of 95 hp, accompanied by a rise in maximum torque from 700 Nm to 844 Nm. Owners of the of the M5 Competition Package version can look forward to an even greater power increase of 108 hp, the headline numbers increasing from 575 hp to a rousing 683 hp, with peak torque up from 680 to 839 Nm. At the other end of the scale, the SPEED-BUSTER Chiptuning-Box extracts an extra 71 hp from the bog standard 560 hp BMW M5. This means 631 hp, with its maximum torque of 680 Nm massaged to 820 Nm. Thus, even this entry-level conversion endows the BMW M5 with super sportscar levels of performance. POSAIDON - POSAIDON A45 RS485+ POSAIDON A45 RS485+ - The 500 hp, 315 km/h sportscar hunter! The Mercedes-AMG A45 is the hottest of the hot hatchbacks. Originally launched with 360 hp, then increased to 381 hp with last year’s face-lift, the entry-level AMG model is potent enough to embarrass many a sports car. Relatively modest weight, an intelligent all-wheel system, and a rapid-fire 7-speed DCT gearbox help deploy the cars not inconsiderable power effectively on both road and track. Tuning specialists POSAIDON have now tapped into the latent potential of this rapid hot hatch, creating their A45 RS485+, the most potent interpretation of AMG’s baby bombshell yet. As the gas flow required to produce 500 hp far exceeds the headroom of the factory turbocharger, the first thing POSAIDON did was swap it out for a ball bearing race turbocharger. The bespoke larger turbine and impeller wheels and gas-flowed scroll housing allows this unit to process the required amount of air, using a higher than standard boost pressure. To ensure that the big turbo gets as much air as it needs, the air intake system was scrutinised for ways to improve ram air, and a low restriction air filter and high efficiency intercooler were fitted. On the other side of the engine, the mission required getting the spent combustion gases away as fast as possible. The RS485+ thus receives a larger diameter, flow optimised stainless steel downpipe with the option of a free-flow, 200-cell catalytic converter. The rest of the AMG exhaust system is unaltered. The lower backpressure that results from these modifications reduces exhaust gas temperatures, and thus the thermal stress on the engine and cooling system. Finally, the engine and transmission software were re-mapped to make full use of these hardware upgrades. While conservatively named POSAIDON A45 RS485+, the test car showed a full 500 hp on the engine dyno, accompanied by 555 Nm of torque. The latter is electronically limited. The stopwatch recorded 3.5 seconds for the 0-100 km/h sprint, while the Vmax is now up to 315 km/h. To contain the extra power, POSAIDON offers an uprated front brake kit with 365x34 mm vented steel discs, clamped by six-pot callipers. Steel braided brake hoses deliver a firmer and more consistent pedal feel. This engine conversion applies to all models that use the M133 engine, such as the CLA45 and GLA45 AMG.
