LAP-TEQ PLUS vs. "old" LAP-TEQ The LAP-TEQ inclinometer is a tool to measure the site angle or frame angle of your loudspeaker array. LAP-TEQ is produced and distributed by TEQSAS (www.teqsas.de). We are happy we could contribute to the development and engineering of the new LAP-TEQ PLUS. If you have not had the chance to see the new TEQSAS LAP-TEQ PLUS inclinometer at the PL&S trade show in Frankfurt, here is a brief summary of the facts and of what is new and what is old: LAP-TEQ PLUS is complete new design. As with the old "legacy" LAP-TEQ inclinometer there are two modules: a sensor and a display module. First it is important to know that old sensors work with new displays and vice versa. LAP-TEQ PLUS and the "legacy" LAP-TEQ are compatible. The connection between sensor and display unit is still a normal 3pin XLR microphone cable. These are the key features of LAP-TEQ PLUS: - Same sensor housing as the old LAP-TEQ. Mounting holes and laser aperture are identical. If the old sensor fits on your flying frame / bumper, the new one will fit as well. - LAP-TEQ PLUS comes with a green laser with cross hair optics. A simple laser dot targeting the audience area can easily disappear between seats or within a curtain. LAP-TEQ PLUS will project a green laser cross at the back wall of your venue and is much more likely to be seen. - Higher precision. The overall quality and precision of the inclination measurement has been improved. - Easy calibration procedure. The sensor can easily be calibrated (if necessary at all) without opening the housing. - Better rain and humidity protection of the sensor unit. - Multiple mounting orientations. The new sensor can be calibrated for upside down or sideways operation. - Rechargeable Li-ion battery. No more annoying 9V batteries! The LAP-TEQ PLUS display can easily be charged with any USB phone charger. - 1.8" color display. Angle values are displayed in large, easy to read numbers. - More elegant looking and extremely robust display enclosure. LAP-TEQ PLUS will be available very soon. Magnetic bracket for LAP-TEQ sensors. The magnetic mounting plate enables you to use your Lap-Teq inclinometer with any (magnetic) flying frame. Two super strong rubber coated neodymium magnets hold the Lap-Teq sensor in position.
