Study programme Animation and Game @ University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt The Animation and Game Bachelor Programme at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt, Germany, combines a high academic standard with a strong practical orientation. It is mainly carried out in English language and qualifies for careers in the international media and entertainment industries. The unique combination of the disciplinary fields animation and game reflects the merging platforms and distribution channels and enables our graduates to position themselves in a highly dynamic professional field. The programme is, to a large extent, project based. During 7 semesters students experience a wide range of subjects such as classical and CG animation, game design, technical art, game development, production management and animation & game theory. The Facultyës resources include industry standard software and hardware, a motion capturing studio, a game lab, fully equipped film and sound studios and a usability lab. Our students are encouraged to gain solid knowledge of the entire production process and, at the same time, to specialize in typical professions of the animation and game industry: as digital artist/designer, animator, game programmer, technical director or producer. As an attractive add-on for Bachelor graduates the Faculty of Media offers a follow up Master Programme with transmedia focus which qualifies for leading positions in higher education, research and the creative industry.
