M.Eng. International Facade Design and Construction
Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Germany. Starting annually in winter. The first three semester are comprised of two full input-weeks and a few additional weekends.
The courses take place at alternating venues, either at the University of Applied Sciences in Detmold, at the cooperating companies or at the partner-universities.
All lectures and exercises will pertain to an integral project. Lectures will be given by professors of the university and/or external experts.
Each semester a conference is organized, that deals with current questions concerning the building envelope. The conference is open to the public and has been established as an international exchange occasion between academia and praxis. In the conference week seminaries and workshops will be conducted for the IFDC-students and the students of the partnering Universities. International speakers from the symposium will guide through these
workshops.
The modular contents are provided in various forms: lectures, seminars, projects and internships. Student self-study is supported by intensive supervision of students during the attendance periods, by special instruction materials and intercollegiate Intranet support.
The programme is successfully is concluded with a master thesis during the fourth semester. In general, the thesis will have a strong basis in practice and interdisciplinary, in association with a cooperation partner in the construction industry, an engineering fi rm, a state authority, or another department of the University of Applied Science - Hochschule OWL.
The degree awarded is that that of a Master of Engineering - M.Eng.
