facebook.comA short essay about a stay abroad at our partner university "Radboud University Nijmegen" from one of our students: I have been dreamed about spending one semester at Radboud University Nijmegen from first semester. As a university that located so closely, many people may not consider it as a first option if they want to go as far as they can. However, I have visited their campus in my first year studying at Rhine-Waal because of a visit in the neighbor city Nijmegen. I fell in love with their campus immediately. After I checked online, I realized Netherlands has one the best higher education in the world just as Germany, but their system and way of teaching are quite different. Now I have spent more than half a year, it is true. Despite the amazing facilities (the huge library and studying area in basically all buildings, the cafes, the sports center right in the campus and so on) it provided to the students, the wide range of courses offered here are all with high quality and rich contents. It offers many activities to students, no matter sports, cultural activities like festivals, exhibitions and theater, but also various academic activities like public lectures from world best researchers. Everyone in the campus or in the city speaks fluent English. They consider every student's need as important, they have video lectures in many big courses to provide students who are sick or want to revise the course content before exams, they also have very good organization in terms of group work. Many might consider Netherlands as having high living cost. I have to say, that is indeed the case. However, there are various way of saving money like going to market instead of supermarket, live in private housing instead of student dormitory, get second hand book or make copies or just study in library instead of buying all brand new textbook. Overall, I really think it’s one of the best choice I have ever made to spend my semester abroad there. #radboud #NL #goodchoice
