Atelier is an Art School dedicated to the study of the Visual Arts,
Literary Practices and Photography in Beijing - Sanlitun. Founded in September 2012, Atelier Art School has launched the first out-of-school art classes in Beijing. Since then, it has developed into a comprehensive educational project, operating  two branches in Beijing. At Atelier we offer high quality courses to children, teenagers and adults that include visual arts, drawing and painting, photography, graphic design, fashion design and French. In addition we have curated a series of workshops during the weekends or holidays as well as creative parties. Courses are taught in French, English or Chinese.

Atelier has built a solid reputation in both expatriate and Chinese communities. With a unique pedagogical approach rooted in the best art education schools in France, high quality art classes for children and adults, a highly creative and one of its kind content, non profit actions in aid of disabled kids, we have gathered the support of more than 500 students these three last years, international schools such as British School of Beijing or International School of Beijing,  Institut Français, Campus France, That’s BJ, Beijing Kids, City Weekend, Time Out.

And now, in Beijing, children, teenagers and adults can make the most of a high quality French art education and have the same chance that I had as a kid to grow up and construct themselves in a creative, artistic and cultural environment.

Atelier Art School @the Museum offers a new Art Outing on April 23/24 798 Art District: The Temple of Candour, an installation of the artist Liang Shuo. After visiting the exhibition, Adeline, Atelier's head teacher, decided to organize an outing to present this installation to children. She really liked the installation and found it quite interactive for kids. It allows the viewers to enter and move around the configured space and interact with some of its elements as if they were entering a traditional Chinese painting, it offers the viewers a very different living experience from a traditional painting or sculpture which is normally seen from a single reference point. The temple of Candour is made of recycled materials, as wood boxes, protection paper, to represent the sea, the mountains, the nature... Poetry and imagination are brought out of this installation to create a wonderful walk inside a Chinese mountain landscape. This outing consists of two parts: a visit of the exhibition and a workshop at Atelier. After the visit, children can come to Atelier to realize their own project based on what they see with the guide of our teacher. The participants can choose to only join the visit or to join both, but it’s not possible to only join the workshop as the workshop is closely related to the exhibition. Part 1: 2-3 pm, Apr.23rd, visit in 798 Part 2: 2-4 m, Apr.24th, workshop at Atelier Sanlitun Only for 7+ years old free for our students / 100 to non-students to only visit 200 for our students / 300 for non-students to visit plus workshop Please contact us to sign up!

#artyweatherforecast It is again this unique and beautiful period of the year when the trees are blossoming with pastel colors. If you are a real Beijinger, you shall enjoy it: go out, take a walk through the reawakening parks, make selfies of you and your families in front of the trees, it won't last very long! David Hockney knew it and fixed this image in time with a watercolor painting on paper, a technique allowing the free blending of the colors and a fast accomplishment. More about: David Hockney Cherry Blossom, 2002, painting on paper David Hockney, born on 9 July 1937, is an English painter, draughtsman, printmaker, stage designer and photographer. An important contributor to the Pop Art movement of the 1960s, known for his photo collages and paintings of Los Angeles swimming pools, David Hockney is considered one of the most influential British artists of the 20th century.
