Fresh-cut local fries lightly tossed in sea salt!  Charley B’s is a locally owned and operated restaurant located in Winkler, MB. Charley B’s aims to generate a sense of community by sourcing their products from local farmers and other local businesses. Charley B’s main focus is providing the Pembina Valley with unique foods, a family friendly environment and service a cut above the rest.
Charley B’s was founded in late 2012 and had the opportunity to open its gates in March of 2014. Charllotte Guenther is the original founder having dreamt of opening her own restaurant since 1997. She had the name picked out right from the start since Charley Brown was her childhood nickname given to her by her Grandmother and she figured Charley B’s had a better ring to it than Skinny Minnies. In 2004, Charllotte met Katelin Letkeman while working at a restaurant in Morden, MB. Since then, they have been great friends. In 2009, Charllotte had an opportunity to manage the restaurant previous to where Charley B’s is located and eagerly accepted the challenge knowing that in the near future she would own her own restaurant. Katelin was her side kick to help her wherever needed, encouraging her to work hard to start her own company. This dynamic stayed the same for 3 years when Katelin spotted an opportunity that would change her life. She decided to join Charllotte in her venture to start a restaurant, thus founding Charley B’s.

The idea behind Charley B’s started as a dream and turned into something much bigger than imagined, and quickly. Charllotte and Katelin had been researching and testing to find out how to break into the community and stand out. This is where the “going local” came from.
Both Charllotte and Katelin strongly believe that food is directly connected to people, which is why they strive to create a strong sense of belonging when visiting Charley B’s and to ensure that their restaurant is to be seen through the eyes of the customer.
Charley B’s wants their customers to have complete knowledge of where their food comes from and how it is raised/harvested; Charley B’s wants customers to know that they truly do care about them and in doing so treat them with the highest respect and kindness everyone deserves.
Charley B’s is always interested in learning new things and entering new markets to grow and build on the base they have created. Thanks to a welcoming community, Charley B’s will continue to seek opportunities for growth and the potential to expand to other communities.
