Proud of WPS PC. Shane Renaud who was awarded Ont Medal for Good Citizenship in Toronto by Lieutenant Governor of Ontario Elizabeth Dowdeswell. Constable Shane Renaud has volunteered for the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society since he was 16 and served on the board for 10 years. He volunteers as a VIP officer and has helped organize and raise funds for the Windsor Police summer camp, CampBrombal. Congratulations Shane! Well deserved. We were at Westview Freedom Academy today for the unveiling of the community mural. As part of the "Tag Out" program, Windsor Police Cst. Deanna Lamont and community partners worked with the talented students in the art program Westview Freedom Academy on creating the "Diversity" Community Mural. The event was made possible through the generous support of community partners "Our West End" Neighbourhood Renewal-Life After Fifty and the United Way. The completed mural entitled "Diversity" is representative of the many nationalities residing in West Windsor, and the over 72 countries represented in Westview High School's student body. Over 40 students and volunteers worked on the project since early October, complimenting the school's first mural attempt, the 2015 "#WECARE" environmental themed mural on the west wall of Aaron's Furniture at Tecumseh Road West and Askin Ave. This year's installation will hang only a block away at California Ave & Tecumseh Road West, on Westview's East Wall near the entrance of the school. Great work and thanks to everyone involved.
