Johnstown ATV Club
As you know, Nation Valley ATV Club's trails join up to Johnstown ATV Club's trails. Some of Johnstown's trails are within Limerick Forest. As of June 1st, riding your ATV/UTV in Limerick Forest will require an O.F.A.T.V (Ontario Federation of ATV Clubs) trail permit. This is no change for us as O.F.A.T.V (Ontario Federation of ATV Clubs) members. This is a positive change for us. This means the trails within Limerick Forest will now be signed following the OFATV signage guideline. This means that Limerick Forest is now covered by the O.F.A.T.V (Ontario Federation of ATV Clubs) 3rd Party insurance coverage (same as all the other trails). This means membership dollars and trail revenue leveling dollars for Johnstown ATV Club can now be used to upgrade and maintain trails within Limerick Forest. This is positive news for the sport of ATVing.
Message from the President: Good morning NVATVC Members, This past Tuesday, we held our Annual General Meeting. During our AGM, the members vote on a few important topics. The first is our Annual Budget, which was accepted and voted in, which means we get to keep going for another year. ;P The second is our Executive and Director Elections. This year, the Vice-President position was up for re-election. Our then Vice-President, Mike Chicoine, had expressed that he would be stepping down from this role, after several years of devoted service. We are pleased to announce that Steve Backes (a.k.a. "French Steve"), has been appointed as your new Vice-President. Congratulations to Steve and we look forward to you taking your seat at the head table for our next meeting. That being said, we must not forget the hundreds of volunteer hours that our past Vice-President has put in to get NVATVC to where it is today. Mike Chicoine, thank you for everything you have done for us as Vice-President. We know that you're not going anywhere and that you'll still be involved, but you deserve our gratitude for the time you have donated so far. In other election news, all of the Director/Co-Ordinator positions were up for election as well. We have a few positions that changed hands this year, such as the Volunteer Co-ordinator, Chief Warden, as well as the Trails Co-ordinator. Our past Volunteer Co-ordinator was Barb Richmire, our past Chief Warden was Steve Backes, and our past Trails Co-ordinator was Mike Chicoine. Thank you, to all three of you, for your service to NVATVC during you time in these roles. We welcome back Mike Starr as the new Volunteer Co-ordinator, Jeff Leizert as the new Chief Warden, and have a new face to the NVATVC Board in the role of Trails Co-ordinator, Kris Gough. Welcome guys, we look forward to working with you. The following positions have had no change in personnel: Quartermaster: Dave Baker Membership Co-ordinator: Cathy Gebhardt Sponsorship Co-ordinator: Brentley Summers Trail Maintenance Co-ordinator: Mike Starr Webmaster: Scott Wilson To those remaining in these roles...you've done an amazing job over the last year and more. We thank you for your past efforts and for agreeing to continue on with us. Without all of the dedicated individuals in all the Executive and Director roles, we simply could not succeed. Thank you to all of you and we all look forward to another successful year. Regards Seb Smith President NVATVC
Due to the large amount of rainfall we will not be opening the trails in the next couple of weeks. Opening the trails in these wet conditions causes irreparable damage. We will monitor the conditions of the trails and will post any updates as soon as we have them.
