From These Roots
Description
From These Roots is located at Flour Power Bakery in Waterdown Ontario “From These Roots” is rural Ontario preserving company situated within the beautiful boarder of Flamborough and Wellington County countryside. Our green powered Cannery is operated completely on wind and solar power! Created and founded by Krista Harrington, the head jammer and recipe writer, her culinary adventures began with an early interest in sustainable and urban agriculture. In her early teens she started an organic market garden called "This Little Piggie Market Garden" and since sales did not reflect her enthusiasm she was left with an abundance of produce at the end of the summer so she took to preserving her efforts instead of letting the produce rot in the field. Krista’s passion for ecology, cooking and promoting sustainable food systems was brought together and “From these Roots”, a local cannery , jam & preserves company was born.
