To all the great Dads, Happy Father's Day! The first Father's Day was celebrated in Spokane, Washington on June 19, 1910. There are some suggestions that the idea of Father's Day may originate in pagan sun worship. Some branches of paganism see the Sun as the father of the universe. The June solstice occurs around the same time of year as Father's Day so some people saw a link between the two. The idea of a special day to honour fathers and celebrate fatherhood was introduced from the United States. A woman called Sonora Smart Dodd was inspired by the American Mother's Day celebrations and planned a day to honour fathers early in the 20th century.

Chafing dishes are a convenient addition for your next summer event. Here are our instructions and tips: 1- Fill the chafing dish with very hot tap water until the water is extremely close to but not touching the bottom of the food pans. 2- Remove the cover from the Sternos but ensure that you keep them to extinguish the flame when you're done serving. 3- Light the Sternos and place them under the chafing dish. 4- Periodically check to assure that the water stays at the same level (close to but not touching the food pans). 5- Always remember relax and enjoy your decadent delights. - Remember to ensure that the food is at serving temperature before you transfer the food to the chafing dish. - By closing the cover your food will stay moist. - Chafing dishes can also be used to serve cold food. By adding ice and cold water to the water pan your food will maintain its cold temperature.
