The BC Labour Heritage Centre has unveiled the newest interpretive panel at the Vancouver Convention Centre, commemorating the Greenhill Park Disaster of March 6, 1945 in Vancouver's Harbour. We invite everyone to Jack Poole Plaza tonight to see the lighting of the Cauldron and to wear red and white to show support for Canada’s athletes competing in the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The Vancouver Convention Centre will light the iconic Vancouver 2010 Cauldron on Thursday, February 8 prior to the Opening Ceremony for the Olympic Games and Saturday, March 17 prior to the Closing Ceremony for the Paralympic Games to honour both the athletes representing Canada on the world’s biggest sports stage and the 2018 host city PyeongChang, South Korea. In addition, BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo) will show support and pride for Team Canada by lighting its venues in Canada’s colours.
