We are a community who advocate for healthy living and connecting to your body's wisdom through Yoga, inspired exercise and dance. In my experience of making Yoga and exercise a daily way of life I have seen that this commitment has carried over into a more deeply felt initiative under all that I do. In other words, if you develop the commitment to exercise or move daily you learn to rely on your self. This means I have a greater sense of trust to do what I am truly inspired to do in the way I need to.
My wish is to demonstrate how we come into our true humanity when we unite with this innate intelligence and use our current circumstances, easy or challenging, as a doorway into a deeper understanding of our true nature. By returning to this intelligence, we will enliven the possibilities of human physical potential and inspire compassionately, the groundwork for personal renewal.
You will learn how to:
• put your body first in a gentle, responsive way
• develop the commitment to exercise or practice Yoga conistently
• eat more healthily
• recognize both healthy and shadow aspects of your self, and an understanding of how to work with them.
• Understand how to change (lifelong) habits so that you can trust your self to focus and realistically meet your needs
• Recognize that your body/mind/circumstances will support you as you continue to make the changes you need
• Recognize that living the healthiest expression of who we are extends beyond our own lives and benefits our families, communities, and all life on earth.
In order to help you integrate exercise and Yoga into your life I offer:
• small intimate classes where I adjust your body in the poses
• offer useful insights for this time to assist conscious living
• my open hearted, informative teaching style will call on you to think for yourself and make requests ( “Can you show me how to do this pose so it doesn’t hurt my knee?”)
In order to help you stay inspired to exercise and practice Yoga I offer private sessions:
• to identify your body’s needs and create a real life plan that fits your schedule and exercise personality
• aimed at developing awareness to work with your body responsively
• to increase mobility, flexibility and stamina which are the most fundamental components of fitness that make consistency possible
• aimed at rehabilitation after surgery, accidents or cancer
• aimed at feeling whole and more resilient after life shifts and the need to adapt to the changes with self-empathy and self-care
Experience is the best teacher:
• I have worked in the fitness and rehab industry for 32 years with athletes, those looking to get flexible or feel better in their bodies, accident survivors and those with emotional trauma; as well as corporate wellness, clinical settings, and contract work with organizations such as The Ontario Fitness Council, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Toronto District School Board, Bell Canada, Canada Life, T.D. Waterhouse.
