Canada Reads is a "Literary Survivor," with celebrities championing books. Books are voted "off the bookshelf," one each day, until one book is chosen as the title the whole country should read this year. The debates will take place March 26-29, 2018, and will be broadcast on CBC Radio One, CBC and online at CBCbooks.ca. Join us at the Library each evening to discuss the titles and add your own comments 6pm to 8:45pm. The contenders and their chosen books are: Mozhdah Jamalzadah, defending The Boat People by Sharon Bala Tahmoh Penikett, defending American War by Omar El Akkad Greg Johnson, defending Precious Cargo by Craig Davidson Jeanne Beker, defending Forgiveness by Mark Sakamoto Jully Black, defending The Marrow Thieves by Cherie Dimaline
